November 20072006-7 VDBC Australian Drag Boat ChampionsAlthough the 2006-2007 racing season is long gone, the record books will show the following boats and drivers were the VDBC Australian Drag Boat High Point Champions in their respective classes. The Stock Eliminator winner was ‘ROBBIE MARINE’ driven by David Kula. The Stock Eliminator runner up was ‘THE DOG TRAINER’ driven by Melissa Foote. The Mod Stock winner was ‘CHASE THE ACE’ driven by Robert Oliver and the Mod Stock runner up was ‘LEEWAY’, driven by Guy Hansen. The Super Stock winner was ‘TRIPPA’ driven by Chris Buhagiar, while the Runner up for the class was ‘KATES’ driven by Simon Curwood. The Pro-Comp winner was John Clay driving ‘COCAINE’ and the Runner up for the class was ‘ARMEGEDDON’ driven by Tony Tippelt. In the BAD class, the winner was ‘STONE COLD’ driven by Russell Palmer, and the Runner up was ‘FIERCE’ driven by Phil Russi. ‘DAVE’S TOY’ driven by Dave Bradford took out the BAF title, ‘ALTERED IMAGE’ driven by Dale Bramhall won the LHU title and ‘DOG STYLE’ driven by Justin Foote won the BHU title. Congratulations to all the High Point Series winners and Runner up’s in what was a tough competitive race season for all competitors as all the classes are filled with quality boats and drivers. In the VDBC 2006-2007 Club Awards, members vote for fellow club members who do more than their share of work around the place. The Winner of the Bill Davis Memorial Award was Wendy Howie for all her efforts over many seasons. The Rick Dart Award also went to a worthy recipient in Mark Potter. The President Choice Award was won by Gary Burdett, who does an unbelievable job as Pit Marshall. |
